Pirate Man

 It was a good last week with Wheat bread. 

 

-ended up in the tire shop for a while but iron man 2 was playing

-Cheeto Mac and cheese, enough said

-Once upon a night me and Wheat were in the church parking lot and a dude who really said "pirates of the carribean" with his fit was riding towards our car on his bike and stopped and looked in our window. Good thing Wheat had locked the doors a minute earlier but we BOUNCED outta there (we zoomed over the speed bumps and caught air) 

-Saturday we were in SLO (San Luis Obispo) to set up the family history tent (f your ancestors picture) and went to the apple store which was the time of my life

-At Alexis's we moved her last chicken coop up the hill. It was 2 combined so super heavy. I was in the front so i was walking uphill in squat form. I literally had to pray for strength lol but it was worth it!

-Lesson with our friend Biranida- she was talking about how funny the spirit is bc she feels so good, but at the same time she can't stop crying when she feels it. Then she was telling us about a dream she's been having of her and her kids all in white and she doesn't know where she is because it's white everywhere. Then she said she woke up from the dream and there was an angel in her room. (Latinos are v visionary ppl) The spirit was so strong, she was crying all through the story so ofc I started crying too even tho i didnt rlly know what she was saying at the time, the spirit is such a beautiful thing. Then we invited her to be baptized and she accepted, our first one on date for me!! I hugged her after and we were just crying and so happy.

I'm gonna miss Wheatley a lot

-Sister Haslam my favorite senior missionary is leaving, in her departing testimony she said "Hes been with me ever since I can remember" and i felt that in my heart. He's been watching over me my entire life, and I can't thank Him enough for how He's led me, loved me, and  strengthened me.

We showed Martin that he's completed 100% of the lessons. Buuut brotha still wants to learn more- he's a curious fella and has questions about if angles come from UFOs and stuff.

Had a sweet moment of driving back from getting frostys during the sunset whilst "something in the orange" was playing by Zach Bryan. It's the little things 

Sometimes I like to keep water in my cheeks before I swallow idk Im tism and one time i got in the car and started laughing and the water burst out- I swear it quadrupled as it came out bc from my waist down my dress was soaked. We were going finding right after that and all the latinos were like ayo.. did you have an acidente jajaj?

Sunday had 6 hours at the church- english ward, spanish branch, branch meeting, and then we had our first trial of night church! Weve been working our booty off texting everyone in our area book, making tons of calls, handing out cards, and putting posters up around town. We had sooo much faith. 

2 people came- Martin who came to the branch earlier in the day, and Marcelino who's.. kinda clueless. He wanders the streets a lot. It was kinda a joke lol. But its ok bc brother Murray gave a talk about preisthood and Martin totally needed to hear it. 

Tuesday we helped 2 sets of elders move to new apartments. The senior housing missionaries helped and they're too good. Sister Weatherford has so much joy and gratitute she literally can't contain it and when we got done Elder Weatherford told us how amazing we were and it just kinda hit our hearts yk? They go home next month so we're gonna miss them 

This week on Roami and Jerman 

- we collabed and drew every single my little pony 

- she now calls me her "butla" 

- we finished her narwhal bird house to enter into the midstate fair  

- she asked me if we gonna be best friends forever, yes roami we will

- oh also Alexis threatened to spank me i think im spending too much time with those children

Spiritual

We had a couple lessons with Biranida who was on date at some point in Oxnard then moved up here. She lives in this hot tiny trailer with 3 kids and her youngest daughter was born with a rare condition which is what turned her to God in the first place. 

Her story reminded me of a hopes work video I watched this week. Why does God give us hard times, trials, dissabilities, scars, anxiety, and mess ups? Well maybe he needs us to have them for some reason. Maybe it's so we can always remember Him. Maybe His atonement wouldn't have  meant much as much. So when we have those things in life that you're just like ugh why?? Those are oppurtunites to turn to Him. And when we turn to Him it doesn't mean He'll heal our scars and pains, but He will give us the strength to deal with them and CONVERT them into something even better. 

It's also interesting to think about why He didn't heal His own scars.

Thursday we met James in the laundromat- he said he's been looking for a church for a long time so he came on Sunday and he used to work with one of our members Gloria, the super kind grandma. He said it was so good to see her again and that he felt so much peace during  sacrament, I'm excited for James. 

Friday Hna wheat prayed that we could start teaching someone tn- then we stopped by Luis and Ana's (the missionaries have been going over there for yearss) Ana was taking the convo all over the place- from talking about abandoned babies in rivers, to the Grinch, to calling hna Wheats lil brother gordito (means pudgy) but they said they were ready for another message so Wheats prayer was answered! 

It's hard to imagine what life would be like without prayer, no communication with God and no way to get answers/ comfort from the Holy Ghost. We are so lucky we know Heavenly Father is really there, hearing and answering every child's prayer:,)

Saturday we went to Morro Bay to go fishing in the ocean with the branch president and his fam (The gonzalezs)! No fish were caught but crabs sure were, no full bodies went into the water but me and wheats feet sure did hehe whoops. 

We also went to the shell shop- I've always believed it's the literal ocean you can hear in shells but alexis crushed my childhood and said it's the air vibrating at frequencies?? Wdym I ain't hearing the ocean??

Rip Swankee- pompa and nommas (granpa and grandma gonzalez) crusty pomeranian of 18 years died. Nomma was crying all during Sunday school

Last zone conference with pres and sis carter, poor sis carter was just losing it the whole time. What is it with the old ladies (older ladies) crying so much? (Idk, its prolly my future too)

 

Also how do elders always manage to connect the gospel to the gym? We get it, you lift, now pipe down. Also i can drive now! I got 0 "check your speeds" otw home from Santa Maria (dont be fooled tho, i also went off roading a few times)

For pday we played bb with the whole zone which is jail time for all of us. Playing basketball with 9 elders was sooo fun I love getting swatted and dunked on every 52 seconds!  

This week on Roami and Jerman:

-played with peaches the cat 

-played dolls on top of maple June the pony 

-played with the chicks (they died a few days later)

-she taught me karate 

-played ponies after church

-made matching bff bracelets 

- one night I was thinking of saying goodbye to her and sobbed. It's gonna be a tough one

Spiritual:

A while ago my beautiful sister in law Taya sent me a talk I needed to hear and that I've always thought back to. It talked about how Satan is the master of confusion and he likes us to think that negative experiences define us, or lower our worth. But Jesus is the God of simplicity. He loves us no matter what we do. When I butcher a street contact and think "ah they prolly would've been interested if I had done that better" -nah thats Satan. God is proud of us for all of our efforts. I've always wondered how to know if I'm giving enough effort, or if I'm really trying my best, but I'm learning that me right now, today, is sufficient for God.
