Gru and noodles

Yo! 

Friday we went out to dinner with the Ririe's, hes the bishop of the YSA ward and they're  basically our parents. They were talking about their 22 yr old son who has no variety in his diet, and bishop ririe is like "oh is that why he's having diarrhea all over the place?" And I'm like WWoah. is your son cool with you sharing this? so i asked sister ririe- is this your son that just got married..? But somehow in there they started talking about their dog RUFUS. I WAS SO EMABARASSED HAHAH but we were crying laughing for like 5 minutes 

Saturday went tobby's for service and she let me have a spin in her "rig". Being friends with a paraplegic has its perks. Shes been watching sacrament from zoom at her house tho and seemed a lottt happier! 

Remember Biranida from Paso? Her names actually Vianira and we've been saying it/ spelling it wrong for months lol. But her son Alfredo got baptized!! She had been put on date in Oxnard about a year ago, lost contact with missionaries, then about 5 months ago me and hermana wheatley found her and put her on date. Its been pushed back since then even tho homegirl has worked so hard towards it!! All she wants is to be apart of the church but she got to see her son get baptized and she was so filled with joy and the spirit. 

Sunday we had been called to talk in our san luis group, and morro bay group. But morning of, bishop of the san luis english ward calls us and asks us to talk. So definitely had to rely on the Spirit for that one, but it was honestly the best one!! I usally do not speak that boldy but it was epiccc. I know that Jesus is always there to bear us up in times of need, even in the simple things. Sometimes it may feel like you arent getting any of His help, but i promise He is always there, and will not leave you comfortless (John 14:18). 

A member even texted us after and said we "are both tied for 1st in excellent messages given by missionaries in the ward over the years." 

Tuesday I had exchanges with hermana Stubbs... you all remember her. Anyways it was a long day, and i was counting my absolute blessings I'm with hermana Morgan now.  

Wednesday we accidently had a packet of noodles washed in our laundry... it exploded and we got soggy noodles all over our clothes on the bright side I painted a Gru pumpkin tho!

Hermana morgan keeps praying for me to control my body hahah.. i think I'm actually lactose intolerant. Madi told me this last year and I've been in denial but alas.

Thursday I woke up from a nap and woke up in the upside down. We went to the farmers market in downtown and I was just unconsciously wandering the streets and feeling ill lol. So I led us to a gas station to get me some chocolate milk and we met the raddest Peruvian lady there. God works in mysterious ways

Moníka's baptism! So she's the member that had to get rebaptized bc she never got Holy Ghost after she was baptized 13 years ago. A snake did wander in by the font after we filled it up,

 it's also been like 100 degrees in morro bay lately where it's normally like 60. So the room we were in was SO hot because the church has horrible ac plus our bishop set the font to steaming hot so it wouldn't get cold before the baptism. So here we all are dying of heat, and Moníka takes 3 minutes to get in the water bc it's so hot. Then she had to get redunked 3 times bc she wasnt going all the way under and the poor woman was just sputtering and almost crying bc of the hot water she said God just realllly had to clean the sins off her hahah. The day before was her son's birthday (he got to baptize her!!) so she brought a huge cake and a bunch of Costco pizza to her own baptism. I love latinos.

 

In english sacrament we sang I am a Child of God and man even just saying that phrase in my head or "i know my Savior loves me" *with intent* never fails to bring the spirit. I love how uniting it is that we're all spiritual children of God. We have so individual value and are like one big family. You are a child of God and your Savior loves you.

Oh ya and today was hermana Morgan's birthday, we went to dennys (IHOP is better) and the elders threw her a surprise party at the church woo!

Pomekon Go! (Proncounced po-meh-kon)

- our friends robert and Kimmie took us out to this fancy restraunt on the pier with the elders and i even got a kiss on the head from Robert hah 

- Gen conference was a dream- I spent one session sleeping on the chairs at the dealership, and one in a room full of latinos that was in spanish so I'll have to rewatch it and get back to you on my thoughts 

- me and H Mogran were dot knocking (knocking on people's doors who have been taught in the past) and we came upon a Pokémon birthday party 

and met this dude Julio who met missionaries 15 years ago, then i found out I knew his cousin and aunt who are members from the spanish branch in paso! Whaaaat?

- INDIES BAPTISM, so you all remember roami the cute lil girl id hang out with every day in Paso, her sister got baptized and we got to go to it!!! Roami coming up and hugging me and seeing my bestie Alexis (branch pres wife) made my week. 

  

 

- Monday we went to morro bay with film crew to film some 1 minute lessons to be used for social media teaching later that night me and H morgan had a deadly tickle fight and I fell off the bed and smashed my head into the corner of the dresser anyways i tried to act ok bc i didnt want H morgan to feel bad lol

- pray for our sweet friend Aurora who has court today and thursdays for the custody of her daughter! She's been stressed about this for months but has been reading the book of mormon at night to her daughter and they pray together so we're hoping all goes down well. 

-spiritual thought

I've been reading the bom with the institue manuel so I've been actually understanding things it's crazy. Anyways I love Lehis dream and the anology that the tree of life he dreams of represents the love of God. And God's greatest gift to us is Jesus Christ. So the fruit on the tree represents Jesus Christ and His Atonement, and in order to fully feel God's love for us we need to partake of the fruit aka the atonement. When we utilize the atonement that is when we are feeling full of joy and God's love.
