Oh by gosh by golly

 Had exchanges with sis mccullough who flied planes before the mission so we hadd to go to the Santa paula Airport and watch the little planes fly out 

Had a lesson with our friend Carlos who when he was at a hard point in his life tried praying to God for the first time and starting speaking in a different language and so now whenever he has this new language and he feels good when he speaks it. So in our lesson he'd randomly start speaking in tongues/ jibberish and smile as if he was super cool for it

Angela vicki and her boyfriend came to church again! We weren't able to have a lesson with them this last week but we want to set them on date this week, prayers up for them! In releif society the lesson was about temples and Vicki was participating and even scooted into the middle of the row because she was so into it hehe

I started reading this chapter in the bom because there was some contention and I wasn't feeling good enough as a missionary but I remembered that pres rodriguez told me in my 3rd transfer interview to turn to the scriptures whenever i felt down. So I did and read this and literally experienced it! 

"for he beheld that their afflictions had truly humbled them, and that they were in a preparation to hear the word" (alma 32:6)

I was humbled by my afflictions so I could want the word.

Sooo 2 weeks ago I kind of did a thing if you know me you know Im terrified of bees. So when hermana nelson was backing me and I realized there was a bee right next to my leg, I basically shot myself over the console to the back seat. So one minute I'm backing up then all the sudden I find myself in the back seat and the car is rolling backwards! Good thing my comp was on her toes bc she basically ripped open the car door and dove in head first so she could push the break with her hand. I know I know it was not smart of me to exit the driver's seat while being in reverse lol especially when there was a dude working on his car behind us... but now I know my fight or flight definitely works anyways no damage done and all is fine except for a big bruise on hna nelsons arm from diving over the console haha.

Our mission got a surprise temple trip! It's beautiful how everytime you can learn something new. 

Victor (our recent convert) called us up and wanted help to try and sue a spa lady who accidently cut his skin we went over and hermana nelson whipped out her CNA skills and cleaned up his cut as we tried to convince him he didn't need to sue the lady. Half way through he tells us that he also has "the athletic foot" and hna nelson about died. 

Had a super spiritual lesson with angela and Vicky. Vicky was talking abt how she thought she was ready to be baptized back in mexico but then they had to move and she was confused why God was pushing back her getting baptized. But after that she grew a lot, went through the repentance process, and realized that she's even more prepared now and more sure that the gospel is ture! 

Me and hna nelson started teaching 11 people through social media in 1 week for a mission challenge then we had 8 friends come to church! It was a really good week here in Santa Paula

One night me and hermana nelson had a tough conversation. There was a lot of contention and it took all the patience in me to just let her say all the things she didnt like about the area/ district/ me. After in the bathroom I remembered something an elder taught- to start praying with the words from Childs prayer: 

Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer every child’s prayer? Some say that heaven is far away, But I feel it close around me as I pray.

And man it always make me feel better! As I think of those words the spirit confirms that God is closer to me than I think and 100% aware of me and my intentions. He is so real and His power is real.

Me: 3 kills

 This week I killed off another one.. dropped off hermana lambert on Wednesday and also said goodbye to my only remaining comps in the mission who are also leaving. I'm all alone now! 

Hermana nelson came and stayed with me since her comp left too and then we got our news the next day that we'd be staying together for this transfer yayy! First comp from Utah, she's willing and happy to go out and work so I'm supa excited!

At service i sat down and talked to Lila on the curb for a while. I didn't talk to her about the gospel or anything but it's something like 7 of those good little interactions like that with missionaries that get them towards accepting the gospel. 

Heres something i liked from a byu devotional this week by T. Jeffrey Wilks- 

"He is always nearby when we are going through tough times, but it's up to us whether we will look into His eyes and listen to His voice. We look into His eyes and we listen to His voice when we immerse ourselves in the scriptures and we converse with Him in daily, meaningful prayer."

That made me ask myself if i was looking into my Heavenly Father's eyes, focusing on Him, being honest with Him, and spending time learning about Him. Anyways I hope you think about that for a second too
