oh hey Kobe

we had transfers but I'm here to stay in Simi with hermana Bradford! She's my second comp I'll kill off hereπŸ₯²

-On Friday it was Kobes 4 years since his crash and believe it or not the crash sight was a mere 30 minutes from us here in simi valley. We made our zone leaders beleive that we got permission to leave the zone and go visit the statue jajah

- Sunday we had 8 friends come to church, and they all sat by different members. I just sat there during the sacrament and couldn't even focus I was just so filled with joy. Some of them being adrian the soccer boy, and his lil sis and mom!!

-Our last invitation for Adrian was to read some of the children's book of mormon and he recounted to us the whole first part of Nephis story! He's a smartie. We had a boy his age from the english ward come as fellowship who was wicked genius and starting talking about the difference between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.. and that's when we had to cut him off haha

- remember Vianira that we taught when I was in training last June? It finally worked out for her to get baptizedπŸ₯Ή that was the happiest news ever

- me and hna bradford have become really good friends with our members Willi and Jorge. We go out to ice cream or have them in visits and we're best friends with them. They said they're already saving up to come visit us when we're home aw

Something I've realized is that a lot of time the things God asks from us isn't just for Him. We don't pay tithing because God needs our money, we pay it to take big steps of faith and show how converted we are to Him. With serving a mission God doesn't need us to convert His children, He could do that himself! Most importantly I'm becoming converted through the process. All the standards that may be silly isn't because God wants to control me, He wants to see if I'll do what He asks without knowing the reason behind it.

Think about something in your life that you're  going through or that's asked of you. Maybe its not for the reasons you think, maybe it's because God is trying to shape you into the person he wants you to be. πŸ€

Hugs and kisses

I'm being exploited for mission ads

 Hey folks,

A lot of ranning around and teaching this week. For the first time in my mission I'm mostly teaching women! Downside is they are so chatty and lessons become hour long

Our ward mission leader came with us to give our friend Teresa a blessing and it was so beautiful. She's had nightmares after this voodoo lady read her palm so stay away from thoseπŸ§™‍♀️

We randomly taught the plan of salvation a bunch this week and everytime we get to the celestial kingdom part id be like- and did you knowπŸ₯Ί you can live😣 with your family😫.. forever😭😭 because I start thinking how important my family, and I ask our friends if their family is important to them then we're all just noddin and in unbelief how beautiful families are. I may not be able to live under the same roof with all my siblings again, but I'm so grateful for our memories and that it was mostly always a place of love heheh. Tell your fam you love em.

I love you
You love me
We're a happy family
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too

Jilly Boel

-MLC went crazy because we had all the district leaders in the mission there too again. We talked a lot about obedience and made some measurable goals instead of just oh we need to be closer to Christ. Which IS the answer.. but wasnt working for the whole mission. So it was really motivating and the next day we had a zoom on finding so we went out and FOUND. Me and Bradford found/ started teaching 13 ppl this week which is fs a record for me! Our mission found 500 total which is double than normal. It was fun to see the elders who usually never go out finding be excited about contacting people:)

- our friend Annie asked us to come over and sing for her daughters birthday. Then we ended up being invited to stay and eat dinner and then danced to little Mexican kid youtube videos. Their whole family was super interested as to what we do as missionaries so that was cool.

-Hermana Bradford is from Texas and the one cookie cutter we happened to have was texas shaped so ofc we made some big ol texas cookies

- went on an exchange with Sister Hannah Nielson from good ol Lehi Utah! I had a crush on her twin brother in high school so we got to tell stories and talk smack on him (love you cart)

- studied by Dwayne the rock Johnsons supposedly vacation house.

- I fake started giving an elder a hug to prank him, and one of the APs whipped out the standards on me😭 #eldermansfielddoesntstop

-I'm not gonna lie... my personal studies have been getting a little rusty lately. Ik ik I'm a missionary who's supposed to be getting spiritually fed for an hour every day! So I gotta get back into it, but this week- if you're ever focusing on your weaknesses or are confused/ sad/ lost- i want you to close your eyes and 1st of all imagine the Savior giving you the biggest warmest hug. Then imagine him taking your hand and guiding you along your path. It doesn't solve everything but man it makes me feel more peace. And 2nd of all remember that you can't do and be good at everything today, slow down ya crazy child- Billy Joel.
D&C 78:18- And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along...

πŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸ₯‚πŸͺ…πŸ₯³πŸŽ†πŸΎ

 - Spent Christmas plucking the elders eyebrows and then eating broccoli soup with this... lovely couple.

- Bro pacheco the best branch mission leader eva brought us molitas from the valley so we decided to spread the kindness and took no bake cookies to all our recent converts

- Stepped in dog poop and tracked it into the library

- Had a comp study with the sisters and we all went around saying spiritual gifts we notice in one another and it was so special. In your friend group go around and say your fav thing abt each other and yourself. It's so tender πŸ₯²

-We've been teaching this 11 yr old boy Adrian who is so reverent and cute. Pray for him to choose church over soccer on sundaysπŸ™

- new years party with the branch went crazayyy. We did line dancing, danced with the abuelitas, and I did the jerk in the middle of a dance circle.

- our mission has baptized more people in the last 6 months than all of last year. Whenever people say the Lord is hastening His work I'm like huh? πŸ€¨ but it's true and definitely the long game!! God is using so many resources to gather Israel and its so beautiful to be apart of. U wanna serve a mission? Do it.

We had a mission zoom that I really needed bc lately I've been forgetting to have faith IN Jesus Christ. Missionary work can easily become monotonous but I was reminded that I need to belive and trust in Jesus's power. Even in normal life- believing that His power can carry us through the day, help us love others, or help us make decisions, then it will. The power of Jesus Christ is amazing.

I love you
You love me
We're a happy family
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too
