Amy is in San Luis Obispo

FACEBOOK update
Hermana Morgan and Hermana Jerman

Mateo 8:26- "Y él les dijo: ¿Por qué teméis, hombres de poca fe? Entonces, levantándose, reprendió a los vientos y al mar, y hubo gran bonanza."

Translation
Matthew 8:26- "And he said unto them, Why fear ye, O men of little faith?" Then, rising, resurrected the winds and sea, and there was great bonanza. "

Instead of reprimand or rebuke, reprendio was translated as resurrected, which is wrong.
The English version says there was a great calm.  This was translated as bonanza. In Spanish, bonanza means calm sea or fair weather which is a good forecast.  In English it means a sudden increase of something desirable or of good fortune.  Just fun to think about.

It's gone

Yo I hit 6 months on the mission so that's pretty crazy, see you all in a year!🤭😘

-I wheez and laugh all day with hermana morgan, im so grateful for her and the humor we share. Our toilet broke again.

- during personal study i was falling asleep and trying to highlight this same verse like 7 times then there was an earthquake we thought someone had entered our house lol

- one of the new converts gloria who has like no money gave us a big paperbag of fruit bc God told her we needed it🥹

- On the way to a contact there was the prettiest sunset so we turned down the next street to a neighborhood that had the prettiest beach view with some rich couples drinking wine with their dogs. Anyways so beautiful and we just took it in and had a moment of silence and I was just in awe like wow thank you God, there's so many different views and sunsets happening rn but I get to be here experiencing this one

We be bumpin to Barbie

Well folks we reached the end of that long 7 week transfer, bye bye hermana stubbs and now I'm in San Luis Obispo (SLO), 30 minutes south of where i was! So same zone, different district and me and my new comp Hermana Morgan pink washed the area (replaced the elders). So neither of us knew anyone and the elders notes of all the people are just context clues of where they live, so weve been trying to piece that all together.

Im glad last transfer is over, not gonna lie I started it kinda stubborn abt obedience because of the way it was enforced on me- and I'm still accepting that maybe its not that bad🙄 but as I continue on my mission it'll start to become my own desire and to show my love to God

Highlights of last week in Paso
-There's a lady in the ward, hermana delbar and oh how i love her. She reminds me of kaleen (my mom) so much in the way she interacts with people, her laugh, her hair, and her personality. I miss you mom! 🥲

-we met this dude luis and gave him a book of mormon, called him the next day and he said he'd read it for 4 hrs already-  from the beginning to freaking ALMAAA. I dont think ive read 4 hours in my whole life (joke)

- we went and visited this old lady in our ward at her nursing home and when she saw us she lit up so bright

Highlights of this week
- the first day together me and hermana morgan got to english class early so we just sat in the car, closed our eyes, and listened to the rain. I was shocked that we could just have a moment of stillness. So beautiful

-it was stake conference so I got to see a lot of members and friends from my last area! I gave roami our bff necklace and she told me- "wear it forever, and even at night when you sleep ok?" 🥹ok roami

- I became head of content for our mission! So I'm basically over our social media pages

-got fed a huge meal and then had the best homemade horchata. The feeling of being full yet still downing a cup of that stuff brought me back to the long hours spent in costa vida

-me and Hna Morgan have been so clueless this week but its been so full of joy. Shes from texas and has the biggest laugh and and such a good soul. We have deep convos and relate about a lot so i have a such soft place for her already. AND SHE LIKES WHIPPED CREAM AND BARBIE so we listen to barbie musiccc🎀🐩💅👧🏼

(Back in paso)
- my cool big sis Al texted me about how reading her patriarchal blessing and getting priesthood blessings helped her through her mission. So I read my patriarchal blessing and it said something about the priesthood in it so i finally took it as a sign to get a blessing. I'd thought abt asking for one before but for some reason kinda felt scared/ embarrassed. (Satan)
So I got one the last week of the transfer and WOWWW priesthood is so cool!! I felt this presence of power as all the elders surrounded me and I felt Gods love so strong and an assurance of my worth. Elder brian told me God is excited to continue helping me throughout my mission which reminded me of something my brother zac said in the blessing he gave me- that heavenly father was happy to have this special chance to be able to mold me into the person that im meant to be.
God is happy and excited to help us and mold us.
The last 4 days of the transfer after that blessing were a game changer, i was doing so much mentally better. PRIESTHOOD POWER BABY
So if your patriarchal blessing is getting dusty pull that out and read it tomorrow, wow those are cool.

Hugs and kisses😘

Tixa'vi Ndioxi

 - last week i was able to talk to the mission therapist and then my sweet angel mom. So so grateful for those resources! This transfer has been pretty mentally hard since ive had some feelings of depression creep in but this week I've finally seen some growth in myself and I know I'll look back and be grateful for these trials.

- we went to a baptism of the elders and when the granpda baptized the girl his arm locked and he pretty much tackled her in the font and she cut her hand on the glass💀 our friend joaquin came tho and we put him on date the next day!! And he said he cant wait to tell his mom he's gonna be a mormon LOL!

- whenever we're leaving the mixtecan families house and thank them the mom claudia says "no, tixa'vi Ndioxi, hermana" which means no, thank God, hermana. They thank God for everyything. For another day to live, for the air we breath, for the food we eat theyre amazing. One lesson we showed them the temple tour video that just got translated into mixteco by some elders in the mission and claudia Jr gave the cutest smile after and said she wants to get married there🥲

-Sunday we had 8 friends come to church!
-That night we were finding and met this dude enrique who has dreams of jesus and then basically tells us some things he foresees for us. He said soon me and stubbs will be on different paths (heck yes) (transfers is next week so highly probable) and that I need to focus in my studies in school bc im a smart girl but sometimes i can be a lil "crazy" and he waved his arms around heheh (true). He said stubbs will marry someone with darker skin than hers, and she needs to be careful while she's driving (good thing my reckless booty isn't driving anymore). Then he grabbed our hands and put them on top of each other and said we need to be connected like that. 🤣what

-I watched this video this morning and I loved how it said "He lives. And because He lives- if you reach out, call out, or cry out, He is here." The phrase He lives is a big message in our church. I know its true but I've always wondered what it means... like yes he overcame death, rose on the 3rd day, and lived again! But then He went back up to heaven, so since He obvi isn't here walking on the Earth anymore, why is it so significant that "He lives"? But I finally was like ohhh it's bc He lives, He can be here with us. He can abide with us and be there immediately when we need Him

Hugs and kisses🫂😽
